Originally called weblogs, a blog is generally a website with articles posted in date order, rather akin to a diary or journal.  These days there are several tools available to write your own blog and even more powerfully to "subscribe" to a range of blogs you're interested in reading. There is of course some debate as to when a website becomes a blog and vice versa, but in general you'll know one when you see one.
